TERMS AND CONDITIONS

TRAINING AND CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT

I, the undersigned, agree to keep confidential the training methods, skills, and knowledge that I am about to learn. I will use them solely for personal growth and skills development. I acknowledge that I cannot use these skills and methods to develop training courses for financial gain, as they are the intellectual property of the SFC Defence Academy. Additionally, I agree not to use the knowledge that I gain to assist any other groups, including political, religious, or any other grouping not mentioned, to start offensive actions or assist in criminal activity. I may only use these methods and training to aid my immediate family. I will contact Nico van der Merwe for further assistance if I am unsure about any aspect. Finally, I confirm that I will not take photos, videos, or make any audio recordings before, during or after the course at any time.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS - COMPETENCY COURSES

Students who book for Competency training at SFC are affirming (by booking) that they are:

  • Of sound mind, and free from mental illness or physical conditions that would prevent the safe operation of a firearm.
  • Affirming that they recognize and accept the inherent risks of firearm training.
  • Affirming that they intend to use the skills taught by SFC in a legal, ethical, and honorable manner at all times.
  • Full payment needs to be cleared before receiving any training material.
  • Cancelation of your booking after payment you will receive an 80% refund on return of the manuals 7 days at least prior to the course.
  • Students who have paid in full, and received manuals and do not pitch up for the course will be able to attend the next course without penalty. If you do not make excuse at all, you forfeit your payment.
  • This also counts for students that make excuse within any time before the course start. You will not be penalised and will have the chance to stay over for the next course only.

PASS REQUIREMENTS - BASIC AND BUSINESS PURPOSE COMPETENCY COURSE

The pass requirements for the Basic as well as the Business Purpose Courses are as follows:

  • The open book exam (formative) must be passed. You must hand in the exam at least three days prior to the course to allow the instructor/assessor to mark the exam before you attend the class.
  • The closed book exam (summative) must be passed.
  • The practical shooting evaluation (summative) must be passed.
  • You must attend all the lectures.
  • You have the right to appeal.

To help you achieve these requirements we have the following in place:

  • You will receive your manuals beforehand once you have paid the course in full.
  • You will have enough time to complete the open book exam at home.
  • You will receive lectures on the course/exam content before you write the closed book exam.
  • You will have an opportunity to practise firing/handling the firearm before you do the evaluation shoot.
  • If you fail the evaluation shoot you will have another chance, included in the course cost.
  • You have the right to appeal.

What will happen if you do not pass one of the evaluations?

  • The assessor will notify you and discuss the outcome with possible solutions.
  • If you only need to rewrite an exam, you will receive a rewrite on another opportunity without cost. If you again do not pass the summative exam (written closed book exam) you may again write a summative exam against a cost of R150 per exam.
  • If you do not pass the practical evaluation on your second chance, you need to receive re-training that will work out on a cost of R250 per hour, firearm hire and ammunition excluded.
  • If you keep on failing one of the evaluations, the assessor will discuss the outcome with you, and if the recommendation is that you are not allowed to receive any further re-training, due to safety implications, the assessor may end the process.
  • You have the right to appeal.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS - SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Students who book for a Skills Development training course at SFC are affirming (by booking) that they are:

  • Legally authorized to own and operate a firearm.
  • Have the necessary Unit Standard qualification, SAPS competency and valid firearm license to apply the firearm intended for use during the course.
  • Of sound mind, and free from mental illness or physical conditions that would prevent the safe operation of a firearm.
  • Affirming that they recognize and accept the inherent risks of firearm training.
  • Affirming that they intent to use the skills taught by SFC in a legal, ethical, and honorable manner at all times.
  • That they will provide effective personal safety equipment as specified for successful entry to the course.
  • Full payment needs to be cleared before receiving any training material.
  • Need to have completed the previous Level of training at SFC Tactical Solutions before attempting a new Level.
  • Students who have paid in full and have to cancel, will not be penelised and may carry over there booking to the next course only.

COURSE BOOKING

Your booking for the course will only be secured if you have paid the course in full. Only then will you receive training manuals and self-study guides.

CLASS CANCELLATION

While it is extremely rare, a class may be cancelled by SFC if minimum student registrations are not received. We recommend that you ensure that the class enrollment is good before making expensive travel arrangements.

Full tuition will be refunded in any case where SFC must cancel a class and if the class cannot be rescheduled.

CLASS REFUNDS

Students may cancel their booking and receive an 80% refund, by contacting Nico van der Merwe, and if the training manuals are handed back without any markings on it, within 7 days prior to training.

Students may receive a class credit (to any SFC program) if they experience a true emergency that prevents them from attending class (family death, exigent circumstances). A refund will be issued on a case-by-case basis .

Students who fail to notify SFC within the required timeframe referenced above will not receive a refund of tuition.

PROCEDURES FOR BOOKING A COURSE

Once you have decided to partake in a course, you must contact 063 693 1554 and meet up with the course administrator. He will provide you with all the detail you need to know. The best method in constant communication is through whatsapp call application. My means of this app detail of the course you wish to attend is spread through direct communication, cell phone calling and in the end through whatsapp messenger communication.

Once you have made full payment, you will receive course material. Your booking is secure once you have paid in full. You must arrange to receive your course manual or course material. Through the whatsapp you will receive detailed instructions.

If you are attending a course where you must hand bank open book exams, you must hand back these exams at least 3 days prior to the start of the course to allow the assessor to mark your exam. After attending and completion of the course you must at least allow 7 working days for your course material to be evaluated and to prepare course certificates. Arrangements will be made for the handing over of the course certificates.

I fully comprehend the terms and conditions of this agreement and I am committed to adhering to them. By signing this document, I affirm my acceptance of these terms.
