The Designated Marksman is an individual with exceptional skills in the application of his semi-auto rifle (SLR) in order to place well aimed and precise shots up to a distance of (but not limited to) 300m. The circumstances, terrain and mission will dictate the application range. SLR rifles equipped with premium quality optics can engage targets up to a distance of 1000m. One must understand that the DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) does not have the same accuracy capabilities as the bolt action rifle. The higher rate of fire on extended ranges is the critical factor here.
