To Zero (verb)

The act of superimposing the point of aim with the end of impact at a given range. Zero is the known distance between the rifle and the target, where the point of impact corresponds to the end of aim on the reticle’s centre. Adjusting the sighting device for this purpose is called zeroing or sighting in.
