SFC Tactical Solutions t/a SFC Defence Academy is an accredited Firearms Training Academy situated in Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, South Africa.
Nico van der Merwe is the owner and founder of SFC.
He has a background in serving for 11 years in the South African Defence Force (Infantry). He is passionate about teaching others the skill of firing a well-aimed, accurate, and effective shot with any firearm. Teaching has been the driving force behind his success for the past 31 years.
As an experienced military instructor, he is qualified in various infantry small, medium, and heavy weapon systems. He specialises in handguns, shotguns, rifles, and semi-automatic firearms and their application within the infantry's combat role. This experience was gained during his military career, with deployments locally and abroad, and through presenting specialised courses in military combat skills.

He is qualified as an Advanced Level Instructor (Tactical Instructor) with the International Firearm Training Academy. He enjoys hunting, long-range shooting, and sports shooting with any firearm.

SFC offers a service to equip clients with the skills, mindset, and aptitude to ensure security and safety within their family's living space. PRINCIPLES OF SFC DEFENCE ACADEMY
Many people often say, "We need to keep fighting the good fight by staying on our knees, praying, and asking God to help us. God will never forsake us."
The issue I find with this sentiment is not that I doubt its truth; I simply believe that it is incomplete. In His preparation of us, I believe God expects a significant contribution from us, one that we may not fully comprehend.
Under King Saul's rule, the Israelites faced a situation like what we are experiencing in South Africa today. During their campaign against the Philistines, it took a young shepherd named David, who had no experience in fighting the enemy, to remind them of what they were supposed to do. David possessed skills such as using a slingshot to protect his flock of sheep, and he was favoured by God and filled with His love. It was these characteristics that enabled him to defeat the giant Goliath.
To confront the challenges in our nation, it is essential that we go beyond prayer and spiritual readiness. We must also hone our practical skills and abilities. This can be achieved by enrolling in relevant courses, such as those provided by SFC Tactical Solutions.
